About Calcinha Preta
Calcinha Preta is a Brazilian electronic forró band formed in Sergipe in 1995. The group became known for romantic songs delivered by alternating male and female vocalists, including “Manchete dos Jornais,” “Hoje à Noite,” “Mágica” and “Você Não Vale Nada.” Daniel Diau, Silvânia Aquino and Paulinha Abelha were among the voices associated with its best-known repertoire.
Calcinha Preta documented its concerts through live albums and DVDs including Ao Vivo, Mágica and 15 Anos. The later audiovisual project Atemporal revisited songs from across the band’s catalog in a performance recorded in Salvador.
