About Chico Trujillo
Chico Trujillo is a Chilean band formed in Villa Alemana in 1999, known for cumbia shaped by ska, rock and the dance-orchestra tradition. The group became a central name in nueva cumbia chilena through songs including “Loca,” “La escoba” and “Gran pecador,” and albums such as Chico Trujillo y la Señora Imaginación and Plato único bailable.
In 2011, Chico Trujillo performed at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival in Quinta Vergara. That appearance was followed by a 2012 performance at Bonnaroo, while the band’s European festival history includes Roskilde Festival.
The live format is a full band driven by percussion, brass and group vocals, fronted by Aldo “Macha” Asenjo.
