About Christy Moore
Christy Moore is an Irish folk singer, songwriter and guitarist, born in 1945 in Newbridge, County Kildare. He helped form Planxty and later Moving Hearts before building a solo repertoire that includes “Ride On,” “Ordinary Man,” “Lisdoonvarna” and “Joxer Goes to Stuttgart.”
The 1994 album Live at the Point documented a concert at Dublin’s Point Theatre. Live at Vicar Street followed in 2002, and he subsequently returned to that theatre for multi-night concert runs.
His shows centre on his voice, acoustic guitar and bodhrán. Many have featured guitarist Declan Sinnott, who also played on Ride On.
