About Cigarettes After Sex
Cigarettes After Sex is an American dream-pop band formed in El Paso, Texas, in 2008 by singer-songwriter Greg Gonzalez. The group’s slow, ambient guitar sound and intimate vocals became known through “Nothing’s Gonna Hurt You Baby,” “K.” and “Apocalypse,” followed by the albums Cigarettes After Sex, Cry and X’s.
The band played Coachella in 2018 after touring internationally behind its self-titled debut. Its concerts later moved into arenas, including a 2023 headline show at London’s O2 Arena, and the X’s World Tour reached Madison Square Garden in 2024.
