About Cochemea
Cochemea is an American saxophonist, composer and bandleader known for his work in Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings. His instrumental albums All My Relations and Vol. II: Baca Sewa center saxophone, drums and hand percussion while exploring his Yaqui and Mescalero Apache ancestry.
Cochemea spent years touring in the horn section of Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings. He later took his own ensemble onstage for percussion-led performances of his solo material, including a 2019 concert built around All My Relations for NPR Music’s Tiny Desk.
