Converge in Boston

Converge are an American hardcore band formed in Salem, Massachusetts, in 1990 by vocalist Jacob Bannon and guitarist Kurt Ballou. They play hardcore punk shaped by metal and abrupt rhythmic shifts, and are known especially for the album Jane Doe, as well as You Fail Me, Axe to Fall and All We Love We Leave Behind. At Roadburn 2016 in Tilburg, Converge performed Jane Doe in full; the concert recording was later released as Jane Live. The festival also hosted their Blood Moon performance alongside Chelsea Wolfe, Stephen Brodsky, Ben Chisholm and Steve Von Till. Beyond their New England base, the band have performed at Hellfest in Clisson and Maryland Deathfest in Baltimore.

Chat Pile is an American noise-rock and sludge-metal band formed in Oklahoma City in 2019. The group established its sound on the EPs This Dungeon Earth and Remove Your Skin Please, then released the albums God’s Country and Cool World. Songs including “Why” and “Slaughterhouse” pair grinding guitars and industrial abrasion with Raygun Busch’s spoken and shouted narratives. In 2023, Chat Pile performed at Roadburn Festival in Tilburg during a European run. The following year, the band headlined clubs across North America on dates that included Agriculture as support.
