Diodato is an Italian singer-songwriter, born in Aosta and raised in Taranto, whose music draws on pop, rock and the cantautore tradition. He is best known for “Fai rumore,” the song that won the 2020 Sanremo Music Festival, and for albums including Che vita meravigliosa.

At Sanremo, Diodato first competed in the newcomers’ section in 2014 with “Babilonia,” then returned in 2018 to perform “Adesso” with Roy Paci before winning the main competition two years later. In May 2020, after that year’s Eurovision Song Contest was cancelled, he sang “Fai rumore” alone in the empty Arena di Verona during the replacement broadcast Europe Shine a Light.
