Artist
Dirty Three are an Australian instrumental rock trio formed in Melbourne in 1992 by violinist Warren Ellis, guitarist Mick Turner and drummer Jim White. Their catalogue includes the albums Horse Stories, Ocean Songs and Whatever You Love, You Are, all built around the interplay of violin, electric guitar and drums. Dirty Three curated All Tomorrow’s Parties at Butlin’s Minehead in 2007. Their 2012 tour for Toward the Low Sun included a Vivid LIVE performance at Sydney Opera House, and the release of Love Changes Everything in 2024 was followed by another international run of trio concerts. The concert format centres on the three musicians: violin, guitar and drums, often allowing the instrumental pieces to expand beyond their recorded arrangements. Spoken introductions between songs are typically delivered by Warren Ellis.
