The Disco Biscuits in Syracuse

The Disco Biscuits are an American jam band formed at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 1995. Their music combines rock improvisation with electronic dance rhythms, an approach often called livetronica. Albums including Uncivilized Area, They Missed the Perfume and Señor Boombox introduced concert staples such as “Basis for a Day,” “Home Again” and “Helicopters.” The band founded Camp Bisco in 1999, and the festival became a recurring setting for multiple extended sets. Bisco Inferno later developed into another recurring concert series, whose Colorado editions included performances at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. A typical concert features the four-piece lineup of guitar, bass, keyboards and drums. The sets rely on improvisation and continuous segues, and compositions may be played in inverted form or left unfinished before being completed later in the show or during a subsequent night. Brooklyn Steel in New York has hosted multi-night club runs by The Disco Biscuits. Their theatre engagements have included The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester.
