About Dumas
Dumas is the stage name of Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist Steve Dumas, who was born in Victoriaville in 1979. He plays indie rock, indie pop and electronic pop chanson. Appearances at the Festival de la chanson de Granby in 1999 and Festival en chansons de Petite-Vallée in 2000 preceded his self-titled 2001 debut; he is also known for the albums Le Cours des jours and Fixer le temps. Dumas and Carl Bastien co-composed the score for Les Aimants, which earned Félix and Jutra awards.
In 2003, Dumas opened for Cowboys Fringants at Centre Bell, and in 2013 he performed at the FrancoFolies de Montréal. Billboard later documented a stripped-back performance that revisited more than two decades of his music in Brossard.
