Emerson, Lake & Palmer in Jim Thorpe

Emerson, Lake & Palmer were an English progressive rock trio formed in London in 1970 by keyboardist Keith Emerson, singer and multi-instrumentalist Greg Lake, and drummer Carl Palmer. Keyboards drove music that drew on rock, classical adaptations, jazz and symphonic elements. Their albums included Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Tarkus, Pictures at an Exhibition, Trilogy and Brain Salad Surgery. The trio performed at the Isle of Wight Festival in August 1970, an early major appearance. After disbanding in 1979, they reunited in the 1990s, released Black Moon and In the Hot Seat, and undertook further international tours. Their final performance took place at the High Voltage Festival in 2010.
