About Falta y Resto
Falta y Resto is a Uruguayan murga ensemble founded in 1980 by writer and director Raúl Castro. The group became known through its Carnival productions and a repertoire that includes “Adiós juventud,” written by Jaime Roos and closely associated with its chorus.
At the Montevideo Carnival, Falta y Resto has repeatedly competed at Teatro de Verano Ramón Collazo, presenting satirical song cycles written for each Carnival season. The production Misa Murguera brought women and men into the chorus and made gender equality part of the work itself.
Beyond Uruguay, the ensemble has performed in Buenos Aires and taken its murga repertoire to Cádiz.
