Fancy in Munich

Fancy is the stage name of German singer, songwriter and producer Manfred Alois Segieth, born in Munich in 1946. His synth-led Eurodisco and Hi-NRG recordings became associated with the 1980s through songs including “Slice Me Nice,” “Chinese Eyes,” “Lady of Ice,” “Bolero (Hold Me in Your Arms Again)” and “Flames of Love.” At the 1988 Sopot International Song Festival, Fancy performed “Flames of Love” for the event’s televised audience. He later appeared at Legends of Retro FM, bringing his 1980s repertoire to the festival’s arena production in Moscow.
