Fools Garden is a German pop-rock band formed in Pforzheim in 1991 by Peter Freudenthaler and Volker Hinkel. Their signature song is “Lemon Tree,” released on the album Dish of the Day; other established songs include “Wild Days” and “Suzy.” In 1996, Fools Garden took “Lemon Tree” beyond Germany through concerts across Europe and Asia. The band later returned frequently to Eastern Europe, performing in theatres, clubs and at outdoor festivals. Fools Garden perform as a full rock band, and “Lemon Tree” remains part of their concert repertoire. Peter Freudenthaler handles lead vocals, while co-founder Volker Hinkel plays guitar and also sings.
