She began releasing music under the name in 2015, pairing layered vocals and electronic textures with guitar-led songwriting. The albums Good at Falling and In the End It Always Does include songs such as “Saw You in a Dream,” “Maybe You’re the Reason” and “Sunshine Baby.” The Japanese House opened for labelmates The 1975 on tours in Europe and North America before headlining clubs and theatres. She performed at Coachella in 2019, then returned to the road behind In the End It Always Does and played Glastonbury in 2023.
