About Guy Forsyth
Guy Forsyth is an American blues singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, born in Denver in 1968 and based in Austin, Texas. He plays Texas blues, folk-rooted rock and Americana, and is a co-founder of the acoustic roots group Asylum Street Spankers. His solo catalogue includes High Temperature, Can You Live Without and Calico Girl.
In 1994, Forsyth helped form Asylum Street Spankers in Austin, where the group began with acoustic street performances before touring clubs and theatres. His solo concerts center on vocals, guitar and harmonica, while musical saw is another established part of his repertoire. The album Live at Gruene Hall documents his band in performance in New Braunfels.
