Artist
Half Man Half Biscuit are an English indie-rock band formed in Birkenhead in 1984, led by singer and guitarist Nigel Blackwell. Their dry, closely observed songs draw on everyday British life, football and popular culture. The debut album Back in the D.H.S.S. established their approach, while “The Trumpton Riots,” “All I Want for Christmas Is a Dukla Prague Away Kit” and “Joy Division Oven Gloves” became enduring catalogue songs. Half Man Half Biscuit played early shows at The Picket in Liverpool before their original run ended in 1986. After reforming in 1990, they resumed occasional full-band concerts, typically as standalone dates in clubs and theatres. They have performed mainly in Britain, including London and Manchester.
