Artist
Heatwave are a British funk, disco and soul band formed in London in 1975 around singers Johnnie Wilder Jr. and Keith Wilder, with songwriter and keyboardist Rod Temperton central to the original lineup. They are best known for “Boogie Nights,” “Always and Forever” and “The Groove Line,” drawn from the albums Too Hot to Handle and Central Heating. Heatwave performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1977, during the period of their first two albums. Surviving footage shows the touring group as a full funk and soul ensemble, fronted by Johnnie and Keith Wilder and featuring Rod Temperton on keyboards.
