About Humble Pie
Humble Pie are an English rock band formed in 1969 by Steve Marriott, Peter Frampton, Greg Ridley and Jerry Shirley. Their blues-rooted hard rock is represented by “Natural Born Bugie,” “30 Days in the Hole” and their version of “I Don’t Need No Doctor,” as well as the albums Smokin’ and Performance Rockin’ the Fillmore.
In 1971, the band recorded four concerts at New York’s Fillmore East, and selections from those performances became Performance Rockin’ the Fillmore. Its extended “I Don’t Need No Doctor” documents the concert interplay between Steve Marriott and Peter Frampton shortly before the latter left the group.
