Immersion is a British electronic duo formed in 1994 by Wire guitarist Colin Newman and Minimal Compact bassist Malka Spigel. Their instrumental music draws on techno, ambient electronics and the motorik pulse of krautrock; key albums include Oscillating, Low Impact, Analogue Creatures Living on an Island and Sleepless. Immersion returned to concert stages following the release of Analogue Creatures Living on an Island in 2016. The duo later created the Nanocluster performance series at The Rose Hill in Brighton: Immersion plays a set, a guest presents another, and both acts join for a collaborative finale. The series has included performances and recordings made with Tarwater, Laetitia Sadier, Thor Harris and Ulrich Schnauss.
