Yungchen Lhamo in Seattle

Yungchen Lhamo is a Tibetan singer born in Lhasa in 1966, known for Tibetan Buddhist prayers and songs performed in an often unaccompanied vocal style. She became the first Tibetan artist signed to Peter Gabriel’s Real World Records, and her albums include Tibetan Prayer, Coming Home and Ama. Yungchen Lhamo has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Royal Albert Hall and the Sydney Opera House, centering her concerts on voice and Tibetan devotional repertoire. She has also performed at WOMAD and Glastonbury Festival.
