Yuri & Lucero in Los Angeles

Yuri is a Mexican singer and television personality, born in Veracruz in 1964. She became known for Latin pop and romantic ballads, including “Maldita primavera,” “Qué te pasa” and “Detrás de mi ventana,” while albums such as Aire and Isla del Sol marked her 1980s repertoire. Yuri performed at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival during the 1980s and later staged repeated headline concerts at Mexico City’s Auditorio Nacional. She also toured with the vocal group Pandora in Juntitas, a joint production built around both acts’ catalogues.

Lucero is an American rock band formed in Memphis in 1998, led by singer and guitarist Ben Nichols. Its music draws on alt-country, Southern rock and punk, and the band is known for songs including “Nights Like These” and “Sweet Little Thing,” as well as the albums That Much Further West, Nobody’s Darlings and 1372 Overton Park. The 2005 live album and documentary Dreaming in America captured Lucero’s touring life and performances during the band’s years on the road. In 2013, Lucero recorded a three-night stand at Terminal West in Atlanta; those concerts became the double album Live from Atlanta.
