Artists
Jacob Collier is a British singer, multi-instrumentalist, composer and arranger, born in London in 1994. He first drew attention through multitracked online arrangements such as Stevie Wonder’s “Don’t You Worry ’bout a Thing,” then released the self-produced album In My Room and the four-part Djesse series. His own songs include “Hideaway” and “All I Need.” Jacob Collier’s early one-man shows used live looping, several instruments and synchronized visuals. In 2018, he appeared at the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall in a concert featuring the Metropole Orkest under Jules Buckley; the Djesse World Tour followed in 2022 and placed his expanded band show in theatres, concert halls and festival settings. His band concerts move among piano, keyboards, bass, guitar and percussion. A recurring part of the performance has Jacob Collier dividing the audience into sections and conducting it as a multipart choir. Beyond Britain, he has performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland and North Sea Jazz in Rotterdam.
Sam Amidon is an American folk singer and multi-instrumentalist, born in Brattleboro, Vermont, in 1981. He is known for reshaping traditional ballads, hymns and fiddle tunes through new melodies and arrangements; his albums include All Is Well, I See the Sign, Bright Sunny South and Lily-O. In 2015, Sam Amidon’s Tiny Desk concert featured a small ensemble that included guitarist Bill Frisell. He later performed at Big Ears Festival in Knoxville.
