Janis Ian in Saratoga Springs

Janis Ian is an American singer-songwriter born in New York City in 1951. She first became known as a teenager through “Society’s Child,” a song about an interracial relationship, and later wrote “At Seventeen,” released on the album Between the Lines. In 1975, she performed “At Seventeen” and “In the Winter” on the first episode of Saturday Night Live. In 2022, she returned to theatres for a farewell tour supporting her final studio album, The Light at the End of the Line. Voice problems later forced her to cancel the remaining dates of what she had announced as Janis Ian’s final North American tour.
