John Paul White in Hartwell

John Paul White is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist from the Muscle Shoals area of Alabama. He is known as one half of The Civil Wars, the duo he formed with Joy Williams, and for songs including “Poison & Wine” and “Barton Hollow.” His solo catalogue includes the albums Beulah and The Hurting Kind. In 2011, The Civil Wars opened for Adele on her North American tour. After the duo disbanded, he returned to solo touring behind Beulah and later The Hurting Kind; his appearances during this period included the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
