About Johnny Logan
Johnny Logan is an Australian-born Irish pop singer and songwriter, born in 1954, best known for winning the Eurovision Song Contest for Ireland with “What’s Another Year” and “Hold Me Now.” He became the first performer to win the contest twice as a singer; he also wrote “Why Me?”, the song with which Linda Martin won for Ireland.
At the 1980 contest in The Hague, he performed “What’s Another Year” and secured his first victory. He returned as Ireland’s entrant in Brussels in 1987, singing the self-written “Hold Me Now”; decades later, he performed Loreen’s “Euphoria” during the first semi-final in Malmö in 2024.
