Jon Spencer in West Hollywood

Jon Spencer is an American singer, guitarist and producer, born in 1965, whose garage rock and punk career began with Pussy Galore and continued through Boss Hog and the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. The latter group became known for records including Orange, Now I Got Worry and Acme, while his later work under his own name includes Spencer Sings the Hits! and Sick of Being Sick! The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion appeared at Reading Festival in 1994 during a long run of international club and festival touring. After the trio went on hiatus, he returned to the road under his own name for Spencer Sings the Hits! and later performed material from Sick of Being Sick! as Jon Spencer & the HITmakers. The HITmakers perform as an electric band centered on his guitar and vocals, Sam Coomes’s synthesizer and the metal percussion of Bob Bert.
