Jorge Nasser is a Uruguayan singer-songwriter and guitarist from Montevideo who founded the rock band Níquel in 1985. His later solo work draws on milonga, candombe and murga, and includes songs such as “Milonga del querer” and “Candombe de la Aduana.” Jorge Nasser first built his concert history as Níquel’s singer and guitarist, performing around Uruguay before appearing under his own name. His solo sets have revisited the band’s catalog alongside his roots-oriented songs at Montevideo venues including Teatro Solís and Auditorio Nacional del Sodre.
