About Kanda Bongo Man
Kanda Bongo Man is a Congolese singer born in Inongo in 1955, known for soukous built around buoyant rhythms and prominent lead guitar. Albums including Amour Fou and Kwassa Kwassa brought his music to audiences beyond Central Africa, while his work helped popularize the kwassa kwassa dance.
Kanda Bongo Man has performed with his full soukous band at WOMAD and Glastonbury Festival. His international live work has also included headline club concerts in London, including appearances at the Jazz Cafe.
