Kota the Friend is an American rapper, songwriter and producer from Brooklyn whose laid-back hip-hop often draws on jazz and soul. His catalog includes the albums FOTO, Everything and MEMO, the Lyrics to GO series, and To Kill a Sunrise, made with Statik Selektah; “Colorado” and “Birdie” are among his best-known songs. Kota the Friend has taken his independent catalog on headline runs through North America and Europe, performing primarily in clubs and theatres. He also founded Flight Night as an independent festival and has headlined the event in Brooklyn.
