Lukas Nelson in Mill Valley

Lukas Nelson is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Austin, Texas, in 1988. He formed Promise of the Real in Los Angeles in 2008 and built a catalogue spanning country, rock and Americana, including “Find Yourself,” the album Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real and A Few Stars Apart. He also co-wrote and co-produced music for A Star Is Born and appeared in the film. Beginning in 2015, Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real toured as Neil Young’s backing band on the Rebel Content Tour after recording The Monsanto Years. They subsequently returned to their own headline dates and became recurring performers at Farm Aid, while the Sticks and Stones Tour followed the 2023 album of the same name. His theatre and amphitheatre appearances have included the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and Red Rocks Amphitheatre outside Denver.
