About Modena City Ramblers
Modena City Ramblers are an Italian folk-rock band formed in Modena in 1991. Their self-described “combat folk” draws on Irish folk, punk and politically engaged songwriting; key records include Riportando tutto a casa, La grande famiglia and Terra e libertà, while “In un giorno di pioggia” and “I cento passi” are among their best-known songs.
Concerts at the Sisten Irish Pub in Novellara were recorded for Raccolti, which presented the band’s repertoire in an acoustic setting. Modena City Ramblers have also performed repeatedly at the Concerto del Primo Maggio in Rome, a major annual event for Italian popular and politically engaged music.
