About Moderat
Moderat is a German electronic trio formed in Berlin in 2002 by Apparat’s Sascha Ring and Modeselektor’s Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary. Their music draws on techno, glitch and melodic electronica, while albums including Moderat, II, III and MORE D4TA produced tracks such as “A New Error,” “Bad Kingdom” and “Reminder.”
The III tour carried Moderat through 2016 and 2017 before a farewell concert at Parkbühne Wuhlheide marked the start of an extended hiatus. The three musicians reunited for the MORE D4TA tour in 2022, returning to concert halls and festival stages.
The concert format places all three members behind electronic instruments, while Sascha Ring also performs the vocal parts. Their stage productions have long incorporated synchronized visual work by Pfadfinderei.
Coachella and Sónar have both presented Moderat’s live show.
