Nai Palm in Brooklyn

Nai Palm is an Australian singer, songwriter and guitarist from Melbourne, best known as the lead vocalist of Hiatus Kaiyote. Her music draws on neo-soul, jazz, funk and alternative R&B; her work with the band includes “Nakamarra” and “Breathing Underwater.” Her solo album Needle Paw presented original songs, reworked Hiatus Kaiyote material and covers in spare arrangements. In 2015, she fronted Hiatus Kaiyote for an NPR session, then returned alone two years later to record a Tiny Desk Concert. Accompanying herself on guitar, she performed “Mobius,” “Crossfire / So Into You” and “Homebody,” all drawn from Needle Paw.
