Pavlov's Dog is an American progressive-rock band formed in St. Louis in 1972. Led by singer and guitarist David Surkamp, whose high-register voice gives the group its most recognizable sound, the band is known for the albums Pampered Menial and At the Sound of the Bell, and for songs including “Julia.” A Surkamp-led lineup re-established Pavlov's Dog as a touring band in the 2000s, performing in European theatres and at progressive-rock festivals. Concert recordings from this period were released as Live and Unleashed.
