Portrayal of Guilt is an American band formed in Austin, Texas, in 2017. They play screamo and hardcore punk shaped by black metal, sludge and noise. Their principal releases include Let Pain Be Your Guide, We Are Always Alone, CHRISTFUCKER and Devil Music. In 2022, Portrayal of Guilt presented a commissioned performance featuring orchestral arrangements at Roadburn Festival. The project later formed the basis of the orchestral half of Devil Music, extending the work first performed in Tilburg.
