About Richard Elliot
Richard Elliot is a Scottish saxophonist, born in Glasgow in 1960 and raised in Los Angeles, who plays smooth and contemporary jazz. He first became widely known as a member of the funk and soul band Tower of Power before building a solo catalogue that includes Street Beat, Rock Steady and his saxophone version of “When a Man Loves a Woman.”
During the 1980s, he toured as part of Tower of Power’s horn section and appeared on several of the band’s recordings. His later concert work included the Guitars & Saxes package tours with musicians including Peter White and Rick Braun. In 2013, he joined Dave Koz, Gerald Albright and Mindi Abair for the Summer Horns album and tour.
