Rory Block is an American singer, songwriter and acoustic guitarist, born in New York City in 1949 and raised amid Greenwich Village’s folk scene. She plays country and Delta blues, using fingerpicked and slide guitar on recordings including “Lovin’ Whiskey,” High Heeled Blues and The Lady and Mr. Johnson, her tribute to Robert Johnson.

Rory Block has toured North America and Europe for decades as a solo singer and guitarist, appearing in clubs, theatres and at blues festivals. She accompanies herself on acoustic guitar, often adding foot percussion, and her concert repertoire includes original songs and music associated with Son House and Mississippi John Hurt.
