Rosanne Cash in Sheridan

Rosanne Cash is an American singer-songwriter, born in Memphis in 1955, whose work spans country, folk and Americana. The daughter of Johnny Cash, she established her own recording career through songs including “Seven Year Ache,” “Blue Moon with Heartache” and “The Way We Make a Broken Heart.” Her later albums include Black Cadillac, The List and The River & the Thread. Early in her career, she worked on Johnny Cash’s road show and later joined it as a backing singer. A vocal-cord polyp interrupted her performing career in the late 1990s, but she returned after surgery and recovery. Her subsequent theatre concerts have featured her husband and longtime collaborator John Leventhal on guitar, sometimes joined by a full band for material including The River & the Thread. In the 2015–16 season, she served as a Perspectives artist at Carnegie Hall, where she curated and performed a series of concerts.
