Ryoko Moriyama in Niigata

Ryoko Moriyama is a Japanese singer born in Tokyo in 1948 whose repertoire spans folk, pop and kayōkyoku. She made her recording debut in 1967 with “Kono Hiroi Nohara Ippai” and is also known for “Satokibi Batake” and “Nada Sōsō,” for which she wrote the lyrics. In 1967, Ryoko Moriyama made her first appearance on NHK’s annual Kōhaku Uta Gassen and later returned to the broadcast many times. In 1998, she performed at the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Nagano.
