About Masashi Sada
Masashi Sada is a Japanese singer-songwriter, born in Nagasaki in 1952, whose work spans folk, pop and kayōkyoku. He formed the folk duo Grape with Masami Yoshida in 1972 and became closely associated with the song “Shōrō Nagashi.” After beginning his solo career, he released enduring works including “Kanpaku Sengen” and the theme for the television drama Kita no Kuni kara.
Masashi Sada began the annual free outdoor concert Natsu Nagasaki Kara in 1987. Between editions he toured concert halls around Japan, presenting programs that combined songs, acoustic guitar and lengthy spoken passages. The series concluded in 2006 with its final concert at Mount Inasa.
