SBB is a Polish progressive rock trio formed in Silesia in 1971 by keyboardist and bassist Józef Skrzek, guitarist Apostolis Anthimos and drummer Jerzy Piotrowski. Initially called Silesian Blues Band, the group developed a sound encompassing progressive rock, jazz-rock and blues. Its best-known records include Nowy horyzont, Pamięć and Ze słowem biegnę do ciebie. SBB first toured as Czesław Niemen’s backing group before establishing an independent career. A 1974 concert at Klub Stodoła in Warsaw was recorded for the band’s self-titled debut album, placing improvisation at the centre of its live identity. Concerts outside Poland followed, including an appearance at Roskilde Festival in 1978.
