Sera Cahoone in Chicago

Sera Cahoone is an American singer-songwriter and drummer, raised in Colorado and based in Seattle, whose music draws on folk and alt-country. She played drums in Carissa’s Wierd and the early lineup of Band of Horses before releasing her self-titled solo debut. Her subsequent records include Only as the Day Is Long, Deer Creek Canyon and From Where I Started. Sera Cahoone played concerts as a drummer before touring her own songs on vocals and guitar, both solo and with a backing band. In 2012, an NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert in Washington, D.C., documented material from Deer Creek Canyon in the broadcaster’s office.
