Ballet Folklórico De México De Amalia Hernández is a Mexican folk-dance company founded in Mexico City in 1952 by dancer and choreographer Amalia Hernández. Its theatrical repertory presents regional music, dance and costume traditions, including mariachi from Jalisco, sones from Veracruz and Indigenous ceremonial forms. Danza del Venado and Fiesta en Jalisco are among its best-known sequences. In 1959, the ensemble represented Mexico at the Pan American Games in Chicago. It began a long-running program of performances at Palacio de Bellas Artes in 1960, then brought its repertory to the Festival of Nations in Paris in 1961.
