Sólstafir is an Icelandic rock and metal band formed in Reykjavík in 1995. Its early recordings were rooted in black metal, while later albums such as Köld, Svartir Sandar and Ótta moved toward post-metal, post-rock and psychedelic rock. “Fjara” became one of the band’s best-known songs. Following Svartir Sandar and Ótta, Sólstafir toured European clubs and theatres and performed at Roadburn Festival and Hellfest. The band also crossed the Atlantic for North American tours, playing clubs in the United States and Canada.
