About Squid
Squid are an English experimental rock band formed in Brighton in 2016. Their post-punk songs draw on krautrock rhythms, art rock and noise, and early singles including “Houseplants” and “The Cleaner” led to the albums Bright Green Field, O Monolith and Cowards.
Squid toured behind Bright Green Field after its 2021 release and played Glastonbury Festival in 2022. Shows supporting O Monolith followed in 2023, adding songs such as “Swing (In a Dream)” and “The Blades” to sets that already featured “Narrator.”
The band performs as a five-piece, using guitars, bass, keyboards, percussion and brass to reproduce the shifting arrangements of its records. Lead vocalist Ollie Judge sings from behind the drum kit.
