Thanasis Papakonstantinou is a Greek singer-songwriter and composer, born in 1959 in Tyrnavos. He writes folk-rooted songs shaped by rebetiko, rock and experimental arrangements, and is known for albums including Vrachnos Profitis and Agrypnia, as well as songs such as “Andromeda” and “Pehlevanis.”
The concert album Ta Zontana documents Thanasis Papakonstantinou leading a full band through material from his early records. He has also given joint concerts with Sokratis Malamas, who has recorded and performed several of his compositions.
