About The Ayoub Sisters
The Ayoub Sisters are a Scottish-Egyptian instrumental duo formed by Glasgow-raised sisters Sarah and Laura Ayoub, who play violin and cello. They became known through their arrangement of “Uptown Funk,” which reached Mark Ronson after it was posted online. Their self-titled debut album was recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, while Arabesque drew on music from across the Arab world.
They have performed at the Royal Albert Hall and Dubai Opera, presenting classical works alongside their arrangements of pop and Arabic repertoire. Their live format centres on the sisters’ violin-and-cello interplay.
Their appearances at major recurring events have included the BBC Proms and Glastonbury Festival.
