About The Big Wu
The Big Wu is an American jam-rock band formed in 1992 by musicians who met at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. Its music draws on rock, country and bluegrass while leaving room for extended improvisation. The band is known for the albums Tracking Buffalo Through the Bathtub and Folktales, as well as songs including “Kangaroo” and “Red Sky.”
The band played the H.O.R.D.E. Festival and later appeared at Bonnaroo as its touring expanded beyond Midwestern clubs and theatres. It also established the recurring Big Wu Family Reunion, which brought the group and other jam-scene performers to Harmony Park Music Garden.
