About The Gaslight Anthem
The Gaslight Anthem are an American rock band formed in New Brunswick, New Jersey, in 2006. They play punk-rooted heartland rock and are known for the albums The ’59 Sound, American Slang and Handwritten, as well as songs including “The ’59 Sound” and “45.”
In 2018, the band toured to mark the tenth anniversary of The ’59 Sound, performing the album in full. After another hiatus, they returned to touring in 2022 and later brought material from History Books into their headline sets.
The band played Glastonbury in 2009, where Bruce Springsteen joined them for “The ’59 Sound.” They also made repeated appearances at the paired Reading and Leeds festivals.
